'What is the perfect age to take my kids on a Disney vacation?' I get this question ALL the time! The truth is, there's no one right answer. That said, any age is the perfect age to experience a Disney vacation! Will my daughter remember her first trips to Walt Disney World? No, probably not. (Okay... definitely not.) But my husband and I will; the family that shared in her visits - grandparents, great- grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins - I know they will. Life changes too quickly to waste an opportunity to share these moments with those you love! The memories you make
are for you, too - at least for now - until you can share them in the years to come. The memories we've made with my daughter on our Disney vacations are priceless. Sharing my favorite place with her is an amazing and special experience, and I hope every parent knows that if they're wishing for that, too - it's possible! As Annual Passholders, we are lucky to be able to visit Walt Disney World often. My daughter
was three months old when we visited Walt Disney World for the first time. She loved meeting the characters, and believe it or not - enjoyed some rides, too! Her favorite part of the trip was definitely the Boo-to-You Parade at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. When Jafar stops everything to wave at a tiny baby, it's awesome.
Our daughter visited Walt Disney World again at seven months old and had even more fun with the characters. Tinkerbell was a favorite (as you can see in the photo above) but she was going through a bit of a growth spurt and ended up sleeping most of the trip. All you baby-wearing mommas will love Walt Disney World! I was able to wear my daughter just about everywhere and she slept whenever she wanted to. She even slept through the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular at Hollywood Studios! We took her to Cinderella's Royal Table for the first time and the princesses adored her. My mother-in-law joined us on this trip and got to see Disney through her granddaughter's eyes - talk about magical.
My daughter was eleven months old on our most recent trip. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort for almost two weeks; getting into a groove makes everything easier so longer visits are perfect for littles. When she needed a nap, she just conked out in her stroller (which made for this great photo op). It was hot so we frequented the baby centers at all four parks - they are fantastic! She was able to run around or watch a movie, and all of us had some time to cool down. Is what worked for my family definitely going to work for yours? No, probably not. But when you're ready to take your little ones on a Disney vacation, they're ready to go! Just remember what it's all about... the magic and the memories.
